FAQ

Questions people ask

How accurate are the numbers?
Treat them as estimates within about ±15–20%. Every tax calculation is tested against worked cases from official rates. Pay figures are our own rounded estimates from public salary data, each labelled High, Medium or Low confidence, and every figure carries an as-of date. Results assume a single filer and salary income only.
How are stock grants (RSUs) treated?
By default, yearly vested equity is counted at face value and taxed as salary, which is how most countries tax RSUs. Switch it off to see cash pay only. Every city also shows a cash-only multiple, so you can see how much depends on stock.
Does it account for a spouse or children?
Not yet. Tax is worked out for a single filer, and living costs are for one person, scaled by the lifestyle you pick. Use "Premium" as a rough guide for a family. School fees and a partner's income aren't included.
What happens to my salary data?
Your income and expenses are sent securely for each calculation and never stored or logged. We keep only your email address, so you can sign in. See the privacy notice.
Why ₹99, and is it a subscription?
It's a one-time payment for 6 months of access, with no auto-renewal. The price covers keeping pay, tax and visa data up to date for that period.
Can I recalculate as many times as I like?
Yes. Try different levels, employer tiers and lifestyles as often as you like. A fair-use limit only kicks in if you run many calculations within a minute, and you can carry on a moment later.
